"For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God."
Pastor Nathaniel B. Cox is an apostolic voice for this age, with a fiery prophetic inclination that is designed to shift culture, and confront systemic social structures. He is burdened by the Lord with a plight to not only declare the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world, but to address social justice issues according Micah 6:8.
Pastor Cox was born and raised in Laurinburg, NC. He received his formal education in the Scotland County school district. He began his collegiate career at The North Carolina Central University, in Durham, NC as a theatre major. Upon receiving his call into the service of the Lord he was prompted by the Holy Ghost to transfer institutions and change his major to Philosophy and Religion. Pastor Cox is now an alumnus of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, in Pembroke, NC; with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion. He is currently in the process of obtaining his Masters of Divinity.
Pastor Cox is the Founder of Resurrection A.M.E Zion Church, affectionately known as “Rezz Church” in Pembroke, NC. He pastored that local assembly for over 11 years. Additionally, he also served as Senior Pastor of Matthew Chapel A.M.E Zion Church during the 2016-2017 conference year. In the fall of 2017, Pastor Cox received the appointment from Bishop W. Darin Moore, Presiding Prelate of the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal District, as the new Senior Pastor of the Trinity A.M.E Zion Church of Pittsburgh, PA.
It is his desire to see the lives of the people of God set free by the power of God. Therefore, he spends countless hours on his face and in his word for a prophetic proclamation that will break the chains of bondage, and raise the people of God up as disciples and world changing agents. Pastor Cox believes that signs and wonders follow them that believe; as a result, many lives have been transformed and renewed by the power of the anointing of Christ, our Lord.
Pastor Cox is the son of Mr. George and Rev. Mary Cox, and the brother of Dr. Christina Cox, MD of Atlanta, GA. He is the husband to the former Maggie E. Tillman, a local preacher in the A.M.E Zion Church. Through this union, God has blessed them with two beautiful young girls, Madison and Naomi Cox.
