Schedule Tea Time with Pastor Walker

The Reverend Joshua Mikel Walker, A native of Sussex County, VA and his twin brother Jonathan Mikel Walker was born on April 12, 1995 to Reverend Antonio L. Walker and Darlean R. Whiting. July 3, 2021 he married the love of his life, Sunni A. Walker. Rev. Joshua and Sunni Walker are proud parents of Josun M. Walker. Rev. Walker preached his trial sermon at the age of 9 on December 14, 2004 at Cuffie Chapel A.M.E Zion Church located in Dendron, Virginia. 

Rev. Walker is a 2013 honor graduate of Sussex Central High School in Sussex, Virginia. He is a 2018 graduate of Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina where he received his Bachelor of Art in Religious Studies Degree. He is a current MDiv student at Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology. 

In July of 2016, he was ordained as a Deacon by Bishop Seth O. Lartey at the 150th Annual Session of the Virginia Conference. In October of 2018, he was ordained as an Elder by Bishop W. Darin Moore at the Mid - Atlantic Leadership Training Institute. Rev. Walker has preached on numerous occasions and looks forward to many more. Since beginning his ministry he is honored to have been able to sit under great leadership and learn from teachings of his Bishop, Presiding Elder and other ministers also.

He wants to see that church continue to succeed. He loves the Lord and knows that if it was not for HIM he would be like a ship without a sail. Rev. Walker presently is the Pastor of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church – Pittsburgh, PA in the Allegheny Conference. 

As he travels through his Christian Journey he keeps in mind what God told Joshua in Joshua 1:9-11 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
